The US manufacturer Nightstick, developed by Bayco Products, is one of the leading providers of professional LED lighting systems. With a wide range of flashlights, weapon lights, helmet lights, and headlamps, Nightstick offers high-performance solutions for hunters, police, and security agencies.
Particular attention is currently being paid to a planned amendment to the law (BR-Drucksache 203/25) that affects the use of weapon lights by hunters . This could allow weapon lights to be used for civilian hunting in Germany.
Current legal situation
- Weapon lamps are classified as prohibited items under Section 40, Paragraph 4 of the Weapons Act; their purchase by end customers and dealers is currently only possible with an exemption from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).
- The permanent mounting of lamps on hunting weapons is currently not permitted.
Planned change in the law for hunters
The draft bill , Federal Council Document 203/25, is intended to permit the use of lights mounted on hunting weapons in the future. The aim of the amendment is to facilitate more effective wild boar hunting and to create a clear legal basis for practical aids. Nightstick weapon lights are already included in the POL-TEC® product range and can be ordered by hunters once the amendment comes into effect – of course, in compliance with legal requirements.
For hunters this would mean:

- Extended possibilities in night situations, especially in wild boar control
