Safe-Guard heat shield

The Silent Steel Safe-Guard is a specially designed heat shield for the Silent Steel Streamer silencer family. It protects the user and equipment from burns and acts as a thermal insulator and signature reduction system that effectively reduces negative heat shimmer effects.

Effective heat protection and cooling:

The Safe-Guard creates a barrier through the air gap between the carbon fiber outer shell and the silencer, preventing heat from being transferred from the silencer to the heat shield. When firing, the gas pressure from the shots draws air through the ventilation holes at the rear end of the Safe-Guard. This design allows for a high air flow rate, which efficiently cools both the silencer and the heat shield. Thanks to the use of low heat transfer materials, the Safe-Guard stays cool enough to not damage equipment and is safe to wear gloves when removing the hot silencer.

Light and robust:

The Safe-Guard is not only very light, but also extremely resistant to impacts and extreme temperatures. It can easily withstand silencer temperatures of over 600°C for short periods of time.

Temperature measurements:

In a test with an AR15 (16" barrel) and a Compact Flow Streamer silencer at an outside temperature of 0°C, the following temperatures were measured:

starting temperature:

• • silencer: 10°C
  • Safe-Guard: 7°C

After the 1st magazine (30 rounds, 3 rounds/sec.):

• • silencer: 120°C
  • Safe-Guard: 10°C

After the 2nd magazine (30 rounds, 3 rounds/sec.):

• • silencer: 220°C
  • Safe-Guard: 30°C

After the 3rd magazine (30 rounds, 3 rounds/sec.):

• • silencer: 400°C
  • Safe-Guard: 68°C

After the 4th magazine (30 rounds, 3 rounds/sec.):

• • silencer: 520°C
  • Safe-Guard: 117°C

Compatibility:

The Safe-Guard is compatible with all Silent Steel Quick Detach (QD) stainless steel streamer silencers (Streamer, Compact Streamer and Micro Streamer). It can also be used on aluminum QD silencers, but the mounting screws must be shortened.

Scope of delivery:

Each Safe-Guard comes with a storage bag. This is made of non-melting materials so that the Safe-Guard can be safely stored together with the hot silencer.
